Notes

Martin Truex Jr. will be making his first start at Michigan International Speedway in the Cabela's 250. But, he will have a great teammate to learn from on the fast two-mile speedway in Nextel Cup Champion Tony Stewart.

Truex enters the 23rd event of the 2004 season leading the NASCAR Busch Series point's battle by 117 marks over second place. He also leads the Busch Series with six poles, four wins, 11 top-fives, and 15 top-tens. Looking to fatten those impressive numbers this weekend, as he pilots the No. 8 KFC Chevrolet.

In a one race deal with Chance 2, Stewart will make his second career Busch Series start at Michigan in the No.81 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet. Stewart and Chance 2 dominated this race last year leading 86 of 110 laps, before rain washed their path to victory lane down the drain.

Martin Quote for Michigan

"This will be my first start at Michigan, but I am not really too worried about it. Bono and Chance 2 had a dominating performance with Tony Stewart last year for this race," said Truex Jr. "We expect the No.8 KFC Chevrolet, to have that same kind of performance this weekend."

About the Cup Regulars

"Tony Stewart and I are teammates this weekend, so I am just going to try to learn as much as possible from him. I love it when the Cup regulars come and race with us. If you win you know you and your team beat the best. "

Tony Stewart Quote for Michigan

"Last year, we came here and we were 'best of show' but, that doesn't count for anything. The Chance 2 cars are proven winners. So, I'm looking forward to putting the No. 81 KFC Chevrolet in the Winner's Circle."
