"I've watched Brewco Motorsports since they started racing," Purvis commented. "I've always wanted to drive for Clarence (Brewer Jr.) because they put a quality racecar on the track every week. Brewco Motorsports is close to home and this is a good situation for me."
"Everybody at Brewco Motorsports is excited about Jeff driving the Timber Wolf cars," Wilkerson stated. "To get Jeff Purvis is a really big deal for us. We wanted a veteran driver who could help a younger driver and, now with Jeff, we have that driver. Jeff and Jamie (McMurray, driver of the Williams TravelCenters cars) will work great together. Having Jeff Purvis on board is a good fit for us and we're looking forward to an exciting 2002 season."
John Kenny, Manager of Special Events for Swedish Match, North America added, "We are certainly excited to have a driver with Jeff's credentials join our team. He is a proven winner and has the competitive spirit to keep the Timber Wolf team running up front. I believe Jeff's talent and experience will be the needed ingredient to develop this team into a championship contender in the Busch Series."
Our goal has been to grow our Timber Wolf moist snuff brand through our racing program," Kenny stated. "We continue to exceed all of our sales expectations for the brand. We can attribute much of Timber Wolf's growth and brand development to our racing sponsorship package."
he first race for Purvis in the #37 Timber Wolf car will be the season-opening Busch Series race at the Daytona International Speedway on February 16, 2002.
