BUSCH: Sauter's car disqualified at Texas

Johnny Sauter's No. 1 Dodge has been disqualified from the Busch series event after failing post race inspection at Texas. Sauter was one of the random post race tear downs; an illegal carburetor was found.

Sauter had finished 14th. This is the first time NASCAR has moved to completely throw out race results. "It will be as if the No. 1 car never ran the race," said NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter.

The team and driver will receive no race money, no points and the record will not show that they competed in the event at all.

The move is NASCAR putting its foot down with teams having illegal equipment on the car after an event end. Sauter's carburetor was too big and while Hunter stated that every situation is different that the No. 1 teams cheating was "blatant" and not to be tolerated.

Hunter further stated that additional fines, penalties and a possible suspension would be forthcoming Monday or Tuesday.
