Madison, IL (May 5, 2004) -- TRIMSPA driver David Stremme has Busch Series racing experience at only two of the nine tracks he has visited thus far on the 2004 circuit. This weekend at Gateway International Raceway Stremme will be racing on familiar territory, as he posted a 14th-place finish in his only career start there last season.

"Gateway is not one of my favorite tracks. The difference in the straightaways gives it a road course feel since you have to shift," said Stremme. "I feel confident I can improve on my finish there last year because we have been working hard at Team TRIMSPA to address the problems we have had the past several races and get back to where we were at the beginning of this year."

This weekend's race at Gateway International Raceway will be the season's second stand-alone event. Also unique is that practice, qualifying, and the race will be held all in one day.

"The format this weekend is great," said Stremme. "It reminds me of how I raced at short tracks growing up, practicing and qualifying during the day and then racing at night. We are in the middle of a twelve-race stretch. Shortening our race weekends really helps."

Stremme and Team TRIMSPA used their extra time this week to their advantage and traveled for a two day test session to Richmond International Raceway.

"We used it as an opportunity to shakedown two new short track cars we have built," said Stremme. "We will be running them at Gateway, Richmond and Nazareth. I really have a lot of confidence in these two new cars. The guys at Braun put a lot of time into making sure we had some of the best cars in the garage for these upcoming races. We want to turn our season around at these tracks where we know we can run well."

Stremme and Team TRIMSPA will be back in action when the Busch Series visits Gateway International Speedway for the Charter 250 next Saturday. The race will be televised live Saturday, May 8th, at 7:30 p.m. eastern time on FX and will broadcast nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with Motor Racing Network (MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
