Richardson Taking on Home Track in NASCAR Busch Series

McKinney, Texas (April 12, 2007) - Robert Richardson always enjoys coming home to Texas Motor Speedway and this season he will make his first NASCAR Busch Series start at his favorite track, only an hour down the road from his McKinney, Texas home. Richardson is spending his 2007 season racing in a limited number of NASCAR Busch Series events with Jay Robinson Racing in cooperation with Haas/CNC Racing. But this weekend, Richardson will pilot the No. 80 Clover Leaf Backyards Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by his father, Robert Richardson Sr. with his other team owner, Jay Robinson, serving as his crew chief.

"This is going to be quite a weekend," said Richardson. "There is no track that I enjoy racing at as much as Texas Motor Speedway. This place has always been like home for me throughout my racing career. I started my career out back at Lil' Texas Motor Speedway in the Legends cars and it seems as though I have made many of the largest steps in my career here at the larger track. It means a lot to come to this facility and compete in front of my family and friends so to make one of my first career NBS starts here this weekend really means a lot in the progression of my career."

Richardson will bring a local company along with him this weekend serving as the primary sponsor on his Monte Carlo. Clover Leaf Custom Backyards in Richland Hills is centrally located to serve the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Their design and construction staff has over 30 years experience in designing and building the finest custom backyard environments. Richardson has always enjoyed coming to Texas Motor Speedway with local support including one of the 2006 candidates for Texas Governor, Kinky Friedman.

"Being a native of Texas, it is really important to me to support the local businesses," said Richardson. "The folks at Clover Leaf are very excited to be a part of this event as they are launching their new website this weekend (www.cloverleafcustombackyards.com). With so much real estate development in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, there are a lot of people who are looking for new ways to spice up their backyards and hopefully a good run here this weekend will help get them recognized by these great Texas race fans."

Richardson has endured many career highs and lows at Texas Motor Speedway including a race win in the ROMCO Super Late Model Series and qualifying into his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) race in November of 2005. But Richardson also attempted to qualify for both the NCTS race and NBS race at Texas last November and failed to make the NBS race by only a couple hundredths of a second. Richardson started this 2007 season by competing at the Daytona International Speedway in his first NBS race where he would finish in the 28th position. He made his second NBS start of the season this past weekend at the Nashville Superspeedway where a fuel leak forced him to the garage area for several laps of repairs before returning to the track to finish in the 31st position. Richardson is looking to turn his luck around this weekend at Texas and then again as he competes at Talladega Superspeedway on April 28 where he earned his career-best NCTS finish of 16th last season.

The O'Reilly 300 will take the green flag at 3:00pm ET on Saturday, April 14.
