OUTSTANDING EFFORT FOR BUESCHER IN FIRST NATIONWIDE SERIES "NEW CAR" START

CONCORD, NC (October 18, 2010) -- James Buescher finished 16th in the Dollar General 300 on Friday evening at Charlotte Motor Speedway. That 16th-place finish was quite a feat as the 20-year-old Plano, TX native started deep in the field in his first start in a Nationwide Series 'New Car' event.

A 30th-place qualifying result gave Buescher quite a task for the 200-lap event. The No. 10 AccuDoc Solutions Camry took the green flag with a vengeance. Aggressively moving through traffic, Buescher moved his way to 17th-place before the yellow flag flew on lap eight. Buescher had sustained some right side damage from scraping the outside wall a lap before, so crew chief Jeff Stankiewicz, brought Buescher down pit road to repair the slight fender damage, bolt on four fresh tires and fill the car with fuel.

Restarting in the 36th position, it was dejà-vu all over again for Buescher. Aggressively moving through the field, it became apparent that a splitter brace had been bent down in the incident with the outside retaining wall, throwing a small shower of sparks when the No. 10 AccuDoc Solutions Camry entered the corner. Working his way to 21st by lap 48, the field began pitting for green-flag pit stops.

Because Buescher pitted on lap 10 before anyone else, it meant that he could stay out longer than anyone else. As pit stops cycled through, the No. 10 AccuDoc Solutions Camry inherited the lead on lap 58. Just as Stankiewicz called his driver to pit road on lap 64, a yellow flag flew for a spinning car off turn four. The timely caution would allow Buescher to restart ninth, picking up 11 spots by not having to pit under green-flag conditions.

Buescher hung around in the top-10 for much of the mid-part of the race. However, as the handling slowly escaped the No. 10 AccuDoc Solutions Camry, Buescher slowly started slipping back to 17th place. A caution flag with just eight laps to go gave Buescher the opportunity to pounce on 16th place, where he would finish.

"That was a pretty good run for our AccuDoc Solutions Camry," Buescher said after the race. "The night started off rough but I was trying to find a feel for these cars in traffic and when I got to the outside we got ran right into the wall. These cars are fun to drive, but much different in terms of balance and how aero affects them in traffic. We learned a lot tonight. The guys worked really hard and we finished up just outside the top-15, which I think is respectable."

Next Stop: The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to St. Louis this weekend for the 5 Hour Energy 250.
