Five things to watch in Saturday's Dover Xfinity race

The NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to action on Saturday at Dover (Del.) International Speedway for the series’ 11th race of the season and the final of four “Dash 4 Cash” races of the year.

Here are five things to watch for in Saturday’s race:

  • JR Motorsport’s driver Justin Allgaier won the first $100,000 “Dash 4 Cash” bonus by winning the race at Phoenix. Daniel Hemric grabbed the second at Bristol, Tenn., and Allgaier was a repeat winner of the bonus at Richmond, Va. The final $100,000 bonus will be paid in Saturday’s race to the highest finisher of four eligible drivers. Since Allgaier is already in the playoffs from his win at Phoenix, Hemric could gain playoff entry by winning a second “Dash 4 Cash” bonus in Saturday’s race at Dover. The four eligible drivers will be determined by the highest finishing series regulars in each of the first two stages of the race.

  • Series points leader Elliott Sadler lost much of his lead last weekend at Charlotte and his JRM teammate, Allgaier, now trails Sadler by just six points. History shows Allgaier may have a good chance of claiming the lead at Dover. In 12 series starts at the track, he has three top-five and six top-10 finishes. Sadler, by contrast, has just three top-10 finishes in 24 starts.

  • There are six Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers entered in Saturday’s race – Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez, Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson. Blaney is looking for his second consecutive win after taking the victory last weekend at Charlotte. Jones is looking to repeat his victory of a year ago at Dover.

  • The last four Xfinity races at Dover have been won by drivers who were series regulars at the time, a good omen for those still searching for their first win of the season – Chris Buescher, Regan Smith, Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez.

  • Dylan Lupton is making his second start of the season with JGL Racing in the No. 24 Toyota. In his debut with the team at Richmond, he finished 12th – a career-best for him on an oval track. Lupton is expected to run at least five races this season with JGL.
