The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford completed 14 laps with a top time of 72.177-seconds (119.585mph). Keselowski, who won this race in 2013, has a remarkable record of five top fives and seven top 10 finishes in eight starts.
Kyle Busch was second quick followed by Joey Logano, Paul Menard, Kyle Larson, Justing Allgaier, Erik Jones, Kevin Harvick, Cole Custer and Ty Dillon.
Keselowski posted the fastest circuit in the first 15 minutes — 120.705mph — followed by Brennan Poole, Kyle Busch, Erik Jones and Ryan Reed.
With 30 minutes to go, Logano jumped up to the top of the speed chart (72.638-seconds).
“I’m a 1 tight going into Turn 1,” Logano said. “Turn 2 is good balance-wise, 3 is wide open.”
Paul Menard jumped up to second with a time of 72.760-seconds (121.371mph).
At the 27-minute mark, Ryan Sieg spun turned going into Turn 1. Kyle Busch shot to the top of the board just before 30-minutes in with a lap of 121.588mph, followed by Logano, Menard, Larson, Keselowski, Poole, Harvick, Jones, Sadler and Ryan Reed. Justin Allgaier, Casey Mears, Matt Tifft, Brendan Gaughan, Ty Dillon, Cole Custer, Daniel Hemric, Dylan Lupton, William Byron, who spun out earlier in the session, and Brandon Jones rounded out the top 20.
Just as 35-minutes had expired, Keselowski returned to the top with a lap of 122.200mph. Brennan Poole spun just before NASCAR reported rain in the bus stop.
Keselowski was fastest followed by Busch, Logano, Menard, Larson, Poole, Jones, Elliott Sadler and Ty Dillon.
Practice returned to green with 15-minutes remaining, but at the 47-minute mark reports of light rain stalled the session again as Ross Chastain spun in the bus stop. After a few minutes, 18 cars returned to the track but before completing a lap, the yellow flag waved again for debris.
The track went green at 54-minutes. The only changes in the top 10 were Allgaier in sixth (120.607mph), Harvick in eighth (120.564mph) and Custer to ninth (120.327mph).
Brandon Jones, who completed a session-high 20 laps, was the only driver to post a best 10 consecutive lap average run (109.505mph).
