Memphis: Michael Annett preview

Memphis, Tenn. (October 21, 2009) -- Michael Annett and the No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers team will compete in the last non-companion Nationwide Series race on the circuit this weekend as NASCAR's second ranked series heads to Memphis Motorsports Park for the Nationwide Series Kroger on Track for the Cure 250.

Annett's previous experience at Memphis Motorsports Park includes one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start for Bill Davis Racing last season. He qualified 13th and finished 11th in the June 2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O'Reilly 200 at Memphis.

This year's Nationwide Series weekend at Memphis will be dedicated to breast cancer awareness, and the race is appropriately named the Kroger on Track for the Cure 250. Breast cancer remains a cause that is close to the hearts of those at Germain Racing.

Team owner Bob Germain Jr. noted, "The Germain family has a history of working to promote awareness of breast cancer. We are proud to again represent this on the race cars and race trucks of Germain Racing. At Memphis, Michael Annett's No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers/Germain.com Toyota Camry will feature pink ribbons in an effort to promote October as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Pink ribbons will also be seen on our trucks at Martinsville and Talladega. This cause is near and dear to our hearts and we will continue to promote awareness of the disease."

Annett and the No. 15 Germain Racing team will be hosting fans on Saturday for the "Our NASCAR" Fan Experience program. With this opportunity, fans will be able to spend the day shadowing Annett and the team while participating in a track pace car ride, the pre-race check presentations and driver introductions. The fans winning the experience will also be invited to sit on top of the No. 15 pit box during the Kroger on Track for the Cure 250. NASCAR has teamed with tracks hosting non-companion Nationwide Series races this season to bring the "Our NASCAR" Fan Experience to the Nationwide Series.

Annett heads to Memphis with only seven points separating him from the tenth place position in Nationwide Series points. The rookie has aimed to tap into the top-10 in the past few races and hopes to make his mark with Saturday's Kroger on Track for the Cure 250.

Not only will the Nationwide Series drive for a cause this weekend, but they'll also have the motivation of the Nationwide Dash 4 Cash program behind them. This Nationwide Series exclusive program will provide a $25,000 payout to the winner of the race. As the final of four Nationwide Dash 4 Cash races, the 250 lap Memphis race is sure to bring some action packed Nationwide Series competition to the track.
