CHINA GROVE, N.C. (October 4, 2011) – When the NASCAR Nationwide Series activities begin this weekend at the 1.5-mile oval of Kansas Speedway, Robert Richardson, Jr. will be back in the seat of the No. 23 North Texas Pipe Chevrolet.

The family-owned team of R3 Motorsports has entered and made every race this year. This has allowed them to remain solidly locked into the Owner’s Points so they can concentrate more on their race set-ups to maximize their performance in Saturday’s race.

The 29-year old native of McKinney, Texas has some experience under his belt at the Midwestern track to aid in the young team’s quest for speed and handling. Richardson used the recent off-week to take an extensive tour of Colorado and New Mexico utilizing his minor in photography from Southern Methodist University to take some great photos available for viewing on his Facebook page.

Robert Richardson, Jr. Quotes: “This is one of those 1.5-mile tracks on our schedule that is pretty much like the others, when it comes to the layout. But, don’t get me wrong, this track has its own personality and quirks just like the others do, too.

“We need to get ourselves dialed in real good in the first practice so we know what we have to deal with during the race. If we start to get in some of those long, green-flag runs like we have been lately, then we need to know what to expect.

“Qualifying will get worked on some, too, because you really want to get a good starting spot at a place like Kansas. The more positions you can put behind you before the green flag flies, the better.

“Kansas is a great area and the fans get into us being there every year. The cooler temperatures now will help us some in the car, but also in how the tires could wear differently than they do in the summer time.”
