RICHMOND, Va. (September 8, 2010) -- Coleman Pressley and a very familiar name to the Pressley family have once again reunited to come on board the No. 23 Chevrolet of R3 Motorsports.
For the third time this season, Jasper Engines and Transmissions will be a primary partner with Pressley and the team. This time, for Friday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Speedway. "I think it's great Jasper is back with us this weekend," Pressley said. "My dad (Robert) had them on his car for years and everyone remembers him in that ride. This will be my first start in the new-style Nationwide cars. I'm looking to learn all I can with this new car and have a great run with R3 Motorsports.
"It makes me proud to carry the Jasper name on my car like my dad did during his Cup career. Now, I just need to go out there and have a good run for everyone. I'm looking for to it and would like to thank the people at Jasper for their support."
This continues the team's efforts to secure a Primary Marketing partner for Pressley to compete full time next year. The team is also seeking to fill more races with the 21-year old, third generation NASCAR driver for more races this season.
Pressley, making his eleventh-career NNS start, fourth for the team and sixth of the season, had an 18th-place finish with R3 Motorsports when the NNS was at RIR in the spring. The younger Pressley has a good coach with him as Robert Pressley won a NNS race at RIR in 1992.
