MADISON, IL (October 22, 2010)--Many have asked the Wallace family to make a statement on the closing of Gateway International Raceway. In Friday's practice sessions for Saturday's 5-Hour Energy 250, they definitely made a statement.

Rusty Wallace Racing's (RWR) Steve Wallace (No. 66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry) ranked among the top-five cars in each of Friday's two practice sessions, including a third-place ranking in the final practice. Wallace's best lap of 33.373 seconds (124.840 MPH) came on the 31 of his 32 laps in the final session.

Meanwhile, Wallace's RWR teammate, Brendan Gaughan (No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino), posted the fifth-fastest time in final practice, with a best lap of 33.444 seconds (134.553 MPH). It occurred on the 32nd of his 32 laps in the session.

In his first time since 1992 behind the wheel of an RWR-built car, Kenny Wallace (No. 28 Illinois Corn Growers Toyota Camry) surprised many on Friday, ranking among the top-15 in both of Friday's practice sessions. His best lap of 33.656 seconds (133.706 MPH) placed him 13th overall in the final practice session for Saturday's 5-Hour Energy 250.

The next on-track activity is Saturday morning's 10:30 AM ET qualifying session. Steve Wallace will be the first RWR car to qualify, rolling off fifth overall. He is followed by Kenny Wallace in the ninth slot and Brendan Gaughan, who is slated to be the 27th car to make a qualifying attempt.
