Anderson scores top 10 in headliner.

The Coor's Light NASCAR All Star night at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway April 12th was a competitive night for TEAM ANDERSON. Winston Cup driver, Kenny Wallace gave the Charles Anderson Lawn Care Chevrolet a shakedown in a NASCAR 30 lap challenge race prior to the Sheetz Limited Sportsman 120. This event was the first headlining event for Limited drivers and Bruce was up to the task.

After Wallace finished a tight second to Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip, Bruce climbed onboard for his 11th place start.

"We were hopeful for a good Top 5 starting spot", said Anderson, "but the competition was real close in qualifying. We'd like to get better when making these qualifying runs."

Bruce immediately went to work when the green flag dropped. Picking up several spots in the opening laps, Bruce settled in for the midway of the race.

"There were a lot of cars making moves at the start and once we got worked in, we put the hammer down and stayed with the lead group. We were consistent and that kept us in the hunt till the end."

As the race neared its finish, Bruce had worked his way up to sixth and raced hard in the end to keep that spot.

"We were so close to the Top 5 we could taste it. I've got to give to Greg and the rest of the guys giving us a hand. We've been able to place well in every race we've run. With this sort of effort, especially on a double points night, we can stay in the hunt for the championship."

With Anderson's fourth straight Top 10 finish and consistent runs, Bruce has moved into fourth place in the series championship chase, holding strong only 40 points out of the lead.

"I sure was on edge", said Team Owner Charles Anderson, "when it came time for Kenny Wallace to run our car in the Challenge race, but he used some of that Stacker 2 and brought it back to us in one piece. Kenny took real good care of the Charles Anderson Lawn Care ride and he almost pulled off a win for us. Maybe we can take this effort tonight and build on it for the championship chase. We're looking for some help for the rest of the season and we're not too proud to say so. This team has a lot of potential and we're showing what we can do early. I know there are some folks out there that are pulling for us and I'd love to have their business on the side panels of this TEAM ANDERSON ride."

TEAM ANDERSON takes another shot at a win next week (April 19th) with Twin 50s. Sponsorship opportunities are available with the TEAM ANDERSON RACING Chevrolet. It's more than just your name on the car, it's the whole deal.....Car shows, sponsor appearances, name recognition, press releases, and more. It's TEAM ANDERSON RACING.

(NOTE: Scoring at the speedway was corrected Tuesday April 15th to reflect Bruce's fourth place standing, not fifth place as was previously posted on the speedway website.)
