LYONS GEORGIA (May 12,2003) Arlene Pittman has lived her life in the fast lane. Sometimes it wasn't fast enough for the checker and more often than not, there were some bumps in the asphalt. But make no mistake Arlene's Pittman's life has been dedicated to racing. A lifestyle that has enabled her to do great things for people, especially the children she routinely visited while on tour with the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series in which she finished 15th out of 68 drivers, during her rookie year.

Pittman has been racing for 19 years and won a championship title at the fastest dirt track in Georgia. She's achieved several wins and a slew of top three finishes in the Pure Stock class in Georgia and Florida. In 1990 She won a track championship at Golden Isles Speedway where she was the first female to ever win.During the course of her career in racing, Pittman has also raced, Super Streets, Hobby Stocks, Late Models, Semi Trucks, Thunder Roadsters, to name a few. And for the past year she has been associated with the Goody's Dash NASCAR Touring Series.

It would seem that Pittman's achievements in motorsports have not gone unnoticed. Pittman has been invited by NASCAR to attend "Women in the Winner's Circle" an exclusive event hosted by Lyn St. James. The event to be held on May 19th in Indianapolis, Indiana will focus on woman in the motorsports industry.

Pittman will be joining many race car driver champions, other outstanding racing legends, and local community and industry leaders who will be donating their time to focus on the advancement and promotion of women in the motorsports industry. The event will encompass the female roles not just as competitors and top level performers, but as engineers, team managers, owners and in other leadership positions

A few of the Honorary Co.-Chairs of this first time ever event include:Dan Davis, Director, Ford Racing Technology Herb Fishel, Executive Director, GM Racing; Don Panoz, Founder, Panoz Motorsports;Les Unger, Motorsports Manager, Toyota.

Since her disappointing finish at Daytona in February, Pittman switched her focus to the first ever Goody's Dash on Dirt Event. She found her self with out a ride until Kentucky where she will be teaming up with TJ Majors. She is also working on a new business venture in the Auto Parts Industry. But her heart still beats to the sound of the engines roaring.

Pittman embraces the opportunity to encourage others in the sport that she has lived for. She is honored to be included in such a prestigious event that recognizes her sport and the roles that women can play in the industry.
