Bill Christie gets first SuperTruck win

Bill Christie, ...

Bill Christie, #56 SuperTruck driver, celebrates his first victory at the Fairgrounds Speedway, Nashville, TN on August 3, 2002. In a race of fifteen SuperTrucks, Christie qualified third fastest. He raced in second place for 47 laps and passed for the lead, running away with it in the last two laps.

Christie, past 2001 BGSCA Road Course Champion at the Nashville SuperSpeedway and the 2000 BGSCA National Champion, has raced at the Fairgrounds Speedway full-time this season. He has 15 starts with 11 Top Tens and 2 Top Fives.

When asked Christie about his victory, he stated, "We're happy we could be a part of such an exciting race. The fans sure got their money's worth tonight. Races like that are what the fans deserve to see every week. Getting the win just makes it that much better. Of course this couldn't happen without all the hard work, late nights, and dedication of all my crew. I want to thank all my sponsors for giving me this opportunity. HOOTER'S of 2nd Ave., WNSR 560 AM, MOTHERS, Inc, and Virtual Thunder They are an important part of this team, and I want to personally thank them for making this all possible." Christie's #56 SuperTruck is owned by Dave Moyes of White House, TN. He was unable to attend the victory race and Christie is seen on his cell phone from Winner's Circle telling him of the great news. Moyes stated, "That's terrific! I told you the wins would come. It was just a matter of time!"

Christie's next SuperTruck race will be August 11 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, races beginning at 4:00 pm. You may follow his progress through his web-site at www.billchristie.com.
