BNS: Ricky Craven Gets Watkins Glen Sponsor

Agree Shampoo To Sponsor Craven in Busch North Race at The Glen Concord, N.C. - Schwarzkopf & Dep, Inc., a Los Angeles-based consumer products company specializing in hair and skin care products, has signed a sponsorship agreement with Ricky Craven Motorsports Inc. for one 1999 Busch Grand National North series race at Watkins Glen International on Aug. 14. Schwarzkopf & Dep, which is new to racing, will showcase two products, Agree Shampoo & Conditioner and LA Looks styling products. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo, built by Craven associate Stan Meserve, will carry Agree as the primary sponsor and LA Looks as the associate. The paint scheme will depict the bold colorful look of the products' packaging. "We couldn't be more excited about our association with Ricky Craven," said company spokesperson Jeff Roberson. "Ricky is a great driver and has had a lot of success on both this track and in this series. He is also representative of a large portion of our products' user group. We believe that this race will be a good test for our company as to the benefits of motorsports marketing, and we will use the results as a basis for any future considerations for sponsorship." "It's fun to represent a line of products that I actually use every day," Craven said. "Watkins Glen is one of my favorite tracks, and I love to go back and compete in the series where my career began. Last year we qualified first and finished second at the Glen. This year we want to finish the job and get to Victory Lane."
