Richie Evans Jr. finished ninth Saturday night at the Concord, NC Speedway in Gary Hargett's #61 NASCAR late model stock car. The second generation driver came from 18th starting spot in the 50 lapper to post his first top ten. Car owner and crew chief, Gary Hargett spotted the race for Richie and helped him avoid a back stretch pile up at the half - way point. Rookie Richie did a great job of driving through the blinding wreck with a pat on the back from Gary. Richie is starting to get more comfortable in the car, and on the difficult and fast Concord Speedway. " If you can learn to drive here, " Says Gary Hargett about Concord, "You can just about drive anywhere. This is a perfect place for Richie to start, " Said the seasoned veteran crew chief. "I' ve started all my drivers here, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. "

Well that is a good sign, and Richie Jr. is learning fast. The team is still working hard on sponsorship. We are very thankful to the help we received recently from Sunoco Race Fuels, Heintz Performance, Leaf Race Wear, and The Edge Racing Products, for everyone's help with products. Their support is helping Richie start his career, and it is greatly appreciated. Thanks to our crew, "DAWG" (Jason) and Kim Marie Fedewa for your help, too. As far as cash sponsorship, the team still needs it. Richie is working very hard to keep the car from getting wrecked to help keep expenses down, but that is a lot of pressure on him. We are all confident that a sponsor will come on board soon. The team plans on going to Concord, again next weekend.
