Rain Washes Out NHMS Qualifying

LOUDON, N.H. -- June 26 -- The grandson of NASCAR championship car owner Richard Childress will lead the field to green at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Friday afternoon.

Austin Dillon, 18, of Lewisville, N.C., starts on the pole for the NASCAR Camping World Series East Heluva Good! 125 Friday afternoon at 5:10. With rain showers at the 1.058-mile oval preventing time trials, the 36-car field was set as per the NASCAR rule book.

Dillon and Brian Ickler of San Diego, Calif., start on the front row. Dillon leads the point standings by 55 over Ickler. Steve Park of East Northport, N.Y. starts third, next to Matt Kobyluck of Uncasville, Conn.

Completing the top-10 starters are Jeffrey Earnhardt of Mooresville N.C., Trevor Bayne of Knoxville, Tenn., Marc Davis of Mitchelville, Md. , Jesus Hernandez of Fresno, Calif., Rogelio Lopez of Aquascaliente, Mexico, and Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass.
