Test session positive for Jan Leaty.

Williamson, NY - Jan Leaty kicked off the 2002 racing season by piloting his Troyer NASCAR tour modified through an afternoon of practice at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY. From all indications, the May 6th test session was positive, as Leaty turned in some of the faster lap times recorded on the ½ mile oval.

For Leaty and the rest of the Branich Motorsports modified team, the test sets the stage for their first race of the season. On May 10th, Leaty will return to his "home" track to participate in the opening night of racing at Spencer in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series modified race.

The next weekend, the team will join the NASCAR Featherlite Modified series for the Service Electric 100, to be held at Nazareth (PA) Speedway on May 19, 2002.

Both races will give the team a chance to showcase their marketing partners for the upcoming season. A number of local and regional companies have teamed up as sponsors to support the Branich modified effort, including Wayne Regional Orthopaedics, PLLC, of Williamson, Heluva Good Cheese (Sodus, NY), Parts Plus/Mr. Auto (Ontario, NY), Cleason Concrete Products, (Palmyra, NY); and Horning Construction Co., Inc. and Davie Kaplan Chapman Braverman, PC, (both of Rochester, NY). Additional product support comes from Bart Wheels, Bob Bruneau Race Engines, Danes Welding Supply, East Coast Electric, Fram Oil Filters, Hoosier Racing Tires, Hyperco Springs, HSBC, Lawson Products, Leaf Racewear and Safety Equipment, Michael Boone Signs, NAPA, Pennzoil, P.E.D. Racing Products, Russell True Value, Speedway Advertising, Sunoco Race Fuels, Troyer, Inc., Wilwood Brakes, and WIX Air Filters. The Williamson (NY) Rotary and Ed Harof of Williamsville, NY, have taken advantage of the team's website sponsorship program.
