George looks to take second set of checkers at Nazareth

The Featherlite Modified Series returns to the Lehigh Valley as the Touring series joins the NASCAR Busch Series this weekend at Nazareth Speedway.

Nevin George, the 21-year-old driver from nearby Kunkletown, PA, looks to pick up his second win on the uniquely shaped mile speedway. The Bruce George Paving and Excavating sponsored Chevrolet driver will be looking to add his second win on the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series in front of the hometown faithful as well as the fans watching the Service and Electric 100 on the Service Electric Cable System.

Last season car owner Ralph Solhem wrenched two cars to victory that weekend. Not only did George win the Service Electric 100, giving the long-time car owner his first FMS series win, but Ted Christopher took the checkers in the first half of the double win at Nazareth Speedway by winning the Burnham Boilers 100 Busch North Series event.

George looks forwards to giving his hometown fans a good show and the entire crew is excited about the return to Nazareth. Solhem and George put away the speedway car last weekend and brought out their backup car for the event held at the Waterford Speedbowl. Solhem wanted to make sure the speedway car would ready for Nazareth without having to make major changes to the car. The move proved prophetic as George encountered trouble in the early laps at Waterford.

George hopes to have good qualifying run and be towards the front when the green flag drops. He stated, "Being up front will not only get us camera time for the Bruce George Paving Chevrolet, but should help to keep us out of any potential trouble." He continued, "Winning here last year was the highlight of my season and I really want to do it again."

The event starts on Saturday with Bud Pole Qualifying set for 10:30 a.m. The Service Electric 100 will run after the NASCAR Busch Series event on Sunday afternoon. The estimated start time is 4:00 p.m.

Fox Sports New England is scheduled to air the Featherlite Modified Series, NASCAR Touring Service Electric 100 during the week of May 26 - June 1.
