Rick Sexton piloted the Johnson Poured Walls ...

Rick Sexton piloted the Johnson Poured Walls #9 to his 2nd Wayland Chevrolet Super Late Model feature win of the season Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway.

Sexton started up front but, was constantly hounded the entire distance by point leader Andy Bozell. Sexton was able to swiftly manuever through lapped traffic to secure the win. The race got off to a shaky start as Todd Dougherty and Dan McEndarfer were eliminated in a frontstretch crash. Phil Massuch assumed the lead on lap 2 with Sexton taking over on lap 7. Jamie Gritter collected the turn 3 wall on lap 37. Eric McGlothlen produced a caution on lap 39 with his car smoking heavily. Tim Johnson and Phil Bozell got together in turn 1 with 5 laps to go. Following Sexton and A. Bozell at the wire was John Chapman in 3rd, Steve Needles 4th and Jeff Ganus 5th. Todd Harrington was 6th followed by Curt Spalding, P. Bozell, Al McGlothlen and Dave Lober. Heat winners were Massuch, A. McGlothlen and Ganus.

17 year old Haley Barnett from Marshall, MI drove her Pontiac powered Stealth to a popular win in the 25 lap Q-Lube Oils Wolverine Outlaw Winged Midget Series main event. For Barnett, it was her first career WOWMS feature win. Shawn Norris was 2nd followed by Nick Mitchell, Chad Goff, Ike Beasley, Phil Rutledge, Chris Hettinger, Gary Harrell, Derek Snyder and Chad Atkinson. Heat winners were Beasley and Atkinson with Mitchell capturing the dash win.

Brandon Lyons drove the Danny and Patti May #2 to his 10th Best Way Disposal Limited Late Model feature win of the season. Darlene Johnson hit the turn 1 wall after lap 1 was completed. Patrick Kirkendall was the early leader with Luke Krick taking over on lap 2. Lyons would take over the top spot with a nifty 3-wide pass of Krick and Brian Bergakker in turn 2 on lap 18. Bergakker finished 2nd with Matt Krywosinski 3rd, Krick 4th and Michelle Sexton 5th. Rich Hardy led the 2nd 5 followed by Kyle VanSparrentak, Kenny Head, Mike Brooks and Mickey Cornwell. LLM heats were captured by Jon Orr, Bergakker and VanSparrentak.

Butch Glass scored his 7th Home Depot Pure Stocks main event win. BS Motorsports drivers Mark Fliearman and Brad Shellenbarger finished 2-3. Point leader Greg Haynes was 4th with Tyler Hassing 5th. 6-10 were Mark Shook, Lloyd Brooks, Bob Livingston, Matt Noble and Jacob Caines. Pure Stocks heat winners were Fliearman and Haynes.

Coming up next Sat., Aug. 13 will be a NASCAR 4 in 1 show on Old Timers Night. It will also be Good Neighbor Night for Barry and Calhoun counties with those residents getting in for just $5 with valid I.D. Race time at 7 PM!
