NASCAR 4 in 1 Show - Mid Season Championships

Andy Bozell became the first 2-time feature winner of the 2005 season by capturing the action packed 100 lap, $3000 to win Super Late Model Mid-Season Championship Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway. Steve Needles jumped out to the early lead until the race was halted when Rick Sexton hit the turn 4 wall nearly head-on during lap 3. Sexton was able to walk away from his heavily damaged machine. Ryan Wheeler had a good run going but, his night was spoiled early after tagging the frontstretch wall on lap 33. The yellow waved again on lap 57 for a 3-car incident in turn 3 involving Todd Harrington, Jeff Ganus and Greg Himes. Alan Marcott was maintaining 2nd place for much of the first half of the race, with A. Bozell and Hank Miller maintaining positions 3-4. Bozell was reeling in Needles and managed to take the lead on lap 87. Miller would also get by and went on to capture runner-up honors. Dave Lober ran a steady race winding up 3rd. Needles held on for 4th with John Chapman 5th. Completing the top 10 were Tom Thomas, Jerry Drake, Harry Foote, Jr., Al McGlothlen and John Delarye. Heat winners were Mike Root, Miller, Chapman and Donny Klotz. Phil Massuch captured the last chance race.

Brian Bergakker posted his 2nd Best Way Disposal Limited Late Model feature win. The race was slowed on lap 9 for a turn 3 incident involving Jake Hopwood and Tom Wright. Jon Orr advanced from his 8th place starting spot to finish 2nd with Rich Hardy 3rd, Matt Krywosinski 4th and Brandon Lyons 5th. Mike Brooks was 6th (from 20th) followed by Kyle VanSparrentak, Jason Simpson, Jim Abbott and Michelle Sexton. LLM heat winners were Orr, Sexton and Krywosinski while Jeff Bozell won the B feature.

E&D's High Performance Sport Stocks point leader Ben Raber scored his 4th main event of the season. Raber inherited the lead on lap 13 and commended Bryan VanZile for his strong runner-up effort from 10th starting spot. Toby Montgomery was 3rd followed by Al Webber, BJ Orr, Ron Coburn, Todd Foote, Joe Reaume and Hope Powers. Sport Stock heat wins went to VanZile and Coburn.

Butch Glass was the Home Depot Pure Stocks Mid-Season Championship winner. For Glass it was his 5th feature win of the year.
