August 4, 1999 SPEEDWAY CLARIFIES HALL PENALTIES
ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA -St. Augustine Speedway officials announced today that after further review, including the interviewing of all parties, the disqualification of the No. 3h car driven by Kenny Hall of St. Augustine in the Snap-On Sportsman event Saturday night, July 31, was improperly assessed. It was determined that removing the No. 3h car from competition during the course of the race, a term referred to as "Parking" by NASCAR, was correct, however throughout the course of the night's competition was incorrectly reported by officials as a disqualification. "Parking" neither constitutes nor mandates a disqualification, a penalty that strips a driver of purse and championship points. In addition to the parking penalty, a fine of an undisclosed amount was also imposed on Hall. The Snap-On Sportsman are back in action Saturday, Aug. 14 after taking off this weekend off to accommodate the Sunbelt Super Late Models and SARA Modified touring series.
