BIG O TIRES 125 POSTPONED
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 26, 2005) -- Due to inclement weather, the Big O Tires 125 scheduled for Saturday, March 26 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash. -- the season-opening event for the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series - has been postponed. A rescheduled date has not yet been announced.
The next scheduled date for the Northwest Series is May 28 at Yakima (Wash.) Speedway.
The 2005 season marks the 21st year of racing for the Northwest Series, one of four NASCAR Late Model touring series that comprise the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division. This season will see reigning two-time champion Jeff Jefferson try for an unprecedented third consecutive title in his LeMay Museum Chevrolet. However, four-time champion Garrett Evans along with past champions Gary Lewis and Pete Harding will look to end that run. Another highlight for the 2005 season is a large group of rookies in the series looking to continue the rich tradition of the Northwest Series and NASCAR in the Pacific Northwest, which includes Greg Biffle, Derrike Cope and Mike Bliss.
