DS Racing continues momentum
Travis Bennett is more than happy to be returning to Yakima Speedway this weekend for the event that was postponed weeks ago due to inclement weather. With the first two events being held in Idaho, many drivers are looking forward to the closer commute and the familiarity that Yakima Speedway brings.
"Yakima Speedway is my home track and I feel confident there. I know we have a good car for this weekend and I just cant wait for Saturday to come," said Bennett.
Bennett unexpectedly started out his 2006 race season at Yakima Speedway in the 40th Annual Apple Cup in a car owned by Rick Suran, and brought home the victory for the Gresham, Oregon based team, which he now considers great friends.
"Rick Suran and the whole East Side Paving Racing Team are a bunch of really great guys. We talk regularly and Rick is now a sponsor of our DS Racing Chevy, one that I am proud to be associated with," said Bennett.
With the announcement of the 4th Toyota All-Star Showdown scheduled for October 20-21 at Irwindale Speedway, many drivers will have the point standings on their minds as they head in to the long stretch of events.
"Making it to the showdown is what everyone strives for and looks forward to all season. To get the chance to go down to a facility like Irwindale Speedway and compete with the best touring drivers from across the country, is a great opportunity that every driver wants to be a part of."
