Bailey Scores Fifth Win In 2005----.

Jack Bailey from Stafford Va. picked up win number five on the season at the Old Dominion Speedway in the 200-lap feature for the B/G Products NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Late Model Stock Cars. Bailey, who was one of three different leaders during the event, took command late in the going, and breezed to the win over polesitter Dustin Storm, crossing the stripe over ten car lengths ahead of the runner-up driver. "I knew the crate motor would fade at the end, so I just took it easy and let the race come to me," Bailey said in victory lane. "The crew did an awesome job on this car and I want to thank them," he added. With the win, Bailey now leads the point standings by 36 points over Richard Boswell Jr., who won the Manassas Dodge "Dash For The Cash" earlier in the evening and led early, but faded and finished fifth. Crossing the stripe behind Bailey and Storm were Franklin Butler, who took the third spot from Danny Fair with just two laps to go, Fair, Boswell Jr., and Mike Colabucci. The MARF Hard Charger Award courtesy of McGee Crane Rental and Convenience Car Care went to Steve Jenkins, who started from the 16th spot, and brought his Chevy home in the 10th position.

Chris Donnelly continued his winning ways and took home feature win number six in the Redman Fleet Service Grand 50-lap event. Donnelly, who started third, took the lead from early leader Greg Compton after a 10-lap side-by-side battle, and never looked back, beating Max Smith to the stripe by over two seconds. Following Smith was Robert Bruce, who started from the ninth spot, Compton, Les Miranda, and Michael Hardin. With his win, Donnelly now leads the division by 46 points over Hardin.

Mike Carte led Flag to flag in the Mini-Modified 30 lap event, taking the checkers for the third time in 2005. With the win, Carte extends his point lead over Scott Roux, who finished a disappointing 8th after mechanical problems. Carte now leads the division by 18 points in his quest for a second championship in a row.

The BDE Racing Series Mini Cups and Pro Trucks return to the Old Dominion Speedway, and 13-year old Robbie Kendal took over the lead at the halfway point from polesitter Ron Robbins, and won the 20-lap event. Robbins held on for the second spot followed by Steven Cox, Gene Jones, and Danny Andrews. With his third place finish, Cox now leads the point standings for the first time in 2005. Danielle McDermott took over the lead from Joe Lanham with a bold inside move coming out of turn four, and took her home second win in 2005 in the 15-lap Pro Truck division. With the win, McDermott now leads the point standings in the truck division.

The Convenience Car Care UCAR 15-lap feature was won by Tony Henderson. The win was Henderson's seconds points win of the season, which allowed him to extend his lead over Timmy Tyrell by eight points. Finishing second was Billy Ingle, followed by Tyrell, John Butler, and Rich Marouse.

Next Saturday night will be a full night of racing action, with the Late Models competing in a 100-lap event, along with 100 laps for the Grand Stocks, 30 laps for the Mini Modifieds, 25 laps for the Winning Edge Performance and Graphics Speedway Sportsman, 15 laps for the UCARS, 20 laps for the BDE Racing Series Mini Cups, and 15 laps for the Pro Trucks. Practice begins at 2PM, Lindsey Chevrolet Qualifying starts at 4PM, with arcing action set to take the green at 6:30 for the BDE Racing Series events.
