ROUGEMONT, NC - Ricky Bryant knew he had the team and equipment to be a winner he just needed some luck. He was able to take a good car and some good luck to collect his second consecutive win Saturday night winning the SURGE 125 at his home track Orange County Speedway. Bryant won at the high-banked 3/8-mile from the pole in 1998 and while he didn't collect the pole (started second), Bryant took the lead on the first lap and remained in the top four all night long.

"Everything in the world went in our favor tonight," said an ecstatic Bryant. "To win back to back races as tough as the competition is in the (Goody's) Dash Series says alot about this Washington Apple team.

Jake Hobgood collected his fourth second-place finish of the season while Eddie Kelley continued his string of consistent finishes following in third while Jimmy Britts followed in fourth and Justin Hobgood completed the top five for his second top five finish of 1999.

The race was slowed seven times by caution with the most serious incident occurring on lap 91 when Steven Barfield spun in turn two in front of Britts and Robert Huffman who were running first and second respectively. Britts was able to recover and finish while Huffman suffered his first DNF of the season and finished 17th. Chad Branham

Chad Branham, who collected his first career Bud Pole position, enjoyed his best run of the season until lap 12 when he and Bryant made contact on the front stretch. Branham hit the outside wall and collected Angie Wilson to end the night for both drivers.

Britts won NAPA Oil Filters Rookie of the Race for the third time this season while Justin Hobgood won runner-up honors in the rookie of the year honor. honor.

The Goody's Dash Series NASCAR Touring division will return to action next Saturday night as the series makes its second visit to Florida of 1999 when the series visits St. Augustine Speedway this Saturday night.
