1999 REVIEW: 1999 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring NAPA Rookie of the Year Jimmy Britts won the inaugural series event at the new Coast Plains Raceway. Britts held off Justin Hobgood over the final six laps to win by a mere .537 seconds. This was Britts second career win and both victories came after the Orange Park, Fl. driver started on the outside of the front row. His win established the new race record while Jake Hobgood established the new qulifying mark with his speed of 82.893 mph. Hobgood led for the first 35 circuits before giving way to Britts. Hobgood retook the lead for another 20 laps before Britts took the point again to the end of the event. A standing room crowd only witnessed this first series event at the 4/10 mile oval.

But a driver making some noise in his NAPA Filter Rookie season is former Late Model driver Cam Strader who won his first Bud pole in his first series start and was running strong in his second start until transmission problems ended his night. Strader is third in the NAPA Filter Rookie program behind Eric Van Cleef and Ricky Woodward who are tied for first.
