DAYTONA BEACH, FL (August 13, 2002) - The Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring will break new ground for NASCAR when the series competes at Motordrome Speedway on Friday, September 13, 2002. No NASCAR Touring Series has ever competed this close to the metropolitan area of Pittsburgh.

With the ever-increasing popularity of NASCAR (National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing), more and more fans are produced on a daily basis. Yet, for Pittsburgh-based NASCAR fans, the closest venue, to see a major league NASCAR "Stock Car" event is in the Poconos, Virginia, Delaware, New York, or Michigan.

NASCAR Touring offers fans the opportunity to experience a national-style event closer to home. The Goody's Dash Series features six-cylinder, full-bodied stock cars that compete at tracks such as Daytona International Speedway, Lowes Motor Speedway. Bristol Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, and now Motordrome Speedway in Smithton.

On Friday and Saturday, August 16th and 17th Pittsburgh will have the opportunity to preview the cars and drivers of the Goody's Dash Series up close and personal. Meet the drivers and see their cars on display Friday, August 16th at Motordrome Speedway (6-9pm), and Saturday, August 17th at Station Square (11-4pm).

Appearing will be: 4-time Goody's Dash Series Champion, Robert Huffman who has 38 career victories to his credit. Huffman visited Hollywood in 2001 to compete in the Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race, as featured in People Magazine, with the likes of Jim Kelly, Josh Brolin, William Shatner, Billy Blanks, and Piper Perabo. Huffman will display the #37 White House Apple Juice Toyota Celica that won at Daytona and Charlotte in 2002.

Chuck Gafrarar, originally from Lancaster, PA graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Engineering Technology. Gafrarar moved to Charlotte, NC where he served as a fabricator at Penske South (Rusty Wallace's team) for a number of years. He left Penske South at the beginning of 2002 to launch his own career driving a NASCAR stock car. He is the current leader in the Mag Clip Rookie of the Year Challenge.

Randy Humphrey, of Cornelius, NC. Humphrey is in his third full-time season of Goody's Dash Series competition. He is an accomplished businessman, 2-time Champion of the Brooks and Dunn Legend Summer Shootout Racing Series, and pilots his own plane. Humphrey will display the #93 Pontiac Sunfire that he ran at Daytona and used to qualify for the front row at Charlotte in 2002.

The drivers will be signing autographs and available for press interviews Saturday, August 13, 2002 at Station Square from 11 am to 4 pm. Their cars will be on display near the valet area of Hard Rock Café.

Participating Sponsors include Travel Club International, WIX Filters, and NASCARTouring.com.

The Goody's Dash Series is a part of the NASCAR Touring ladder system. NASCAR has three National Divisions, Eight Regional Divisions (NASCAR Touring), and 80+ Tracks nationwide that are sanctioned by NASCAR as a part of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Presented by Dodge.

A driver begins his career at one of the many "local tracks" i.e.Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, PA.. Then he moves up to a NASCAR Touring "Regional" level..i.e.the Goody's Dash Series. From there that driver may go to the NASCAR Busch Series or the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. His ultimate goal may be to reach the top series, NASCAR Winston Cup.

In the Goody's Dash Series, you will find the stars of the not so distant future.
