FIELD: 40 cars. Starting positions 1-36 will be determined by time trials (2 laps), positions 37-40 will be available to any of the top 30 eligible drivers in the 1998 NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series Championship point standings, who have entered the event, but have not qualified for one of the original 36 starting positions. If a starting position(s) remains unfilled, then that starting position(s) will become available to the next eligible car from the qualifying procedure for the event.

THE RACE: The Greased Lightning 150 is the 19th and final race on the 1998 Slim Jim All Pro Series schedule. This race represents the second visit to the Miami-Dade

Homestead Motorsports Complex in 1998. The event is 100 laps in length equating to 150 miles.

1997 REVIEW: Denver, N.C.'s Hank Parker, Jr. held off Winston Cup driver Bobby Hamilton to grab his second career win. Rounding out the top five were Mario Gosselin, 1996 winner Scot Walters and Derrick Gilchrist. Concord, N.C.'s Sean Studer earned his first career Bud Pole position and set the track record in the process.

NOTES OF INTEREST - Championships will be decided in three NASCAR divisions this weekend. The Busch Series-Grand National Division, the Goody's Dash Series and the Slim Jim All Pro Series will all crown champions after the completion of each series event. - Only one former Bud Pole Sitter, track record holder Sean Studer, and one former race winner, 1998 series point leader Freddie Query, are expected to have a shot at repeating their respective achievements. Mike Harmon, Hank Parker, Jr. and Mardy Lindley have won poles while Scot Walters, Nipper Alsup and Parker have won races, but none of these individuals are expected to return to duplicate their efforts.

STAT OF THE WEEK: Over the course of the previous 18 races in 1998 there have been 28 different lap leaders, eight different pole winners and eight different race winners. Freddie Query leads in each of these categories with 1492 laps led out of 3823 run, while also having earned four pole positions and nine wins.
