TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY'S MIKE ZIZZO HONORED BY NASCAR

Director of Media Relations At TMS Named Speedway PR Person Of The Year By NASCAR

FORT WORTH, Texas (February 13, 2007): Texas Motor Speedway Director of Media Relations Mike Zizzo was honored today by NASCAR as the Speedway PR Person of the Year. Zizzo was recognized with the award during the annual NASCAR PR Summit held in Daytona Beach, Fla.

"We are obviously very proud of Mike for getting this recognition," said Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage. "This award is another confirmation that Texas Motor Speedway continues to maintain staff and management that are the best in the industry. Mike is a valuable asset to our media relations department and exemplifies the standard of excellence that we uphold here at Texas Motor Speedway."

Zizzo arrived at Texas Motor Speedway in 2005 after serving as senior manager of communications in NASCAR's Media Relations department. Prior to his tenure at NASCAR, Zizzo spent six years with Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) as communications manager before being promoted to director of public relations. In 2000, he was promoted to CART vice president of competition public relations.

Prior to his NASCAR and CART experience, he worked for 12 years as a sportswriter for The Orlando Sentinel, covering a variety of major beats, including motorsports, the NFL and NHL.

In addition to this NASCAR award, Zizzo has been honored with the Jim Chapman Award as the most outstanding public relations representative in the CART series, becoming the first from the sanctioning body to ever receive the prestigious award.
