Todd Gilliland led every lap Saturday night at Spokane County Raceway to score his fourth straight win and lead his team to a sweep of the top-three positions in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West return to the track.

After rain forced the delay of the start, Gilliland started from the pole got out front and never looked back for his 11th career win in the NASCAR Touring Series division.

It was the second straight race the 16-year-old defending champion won after leading every lap, however, he was challenged by his teammate Derek Kraus throughout the first half of the race.

The 15-year-old rookie made several attempts to pass Gilliland but wasn't able to complete the pass and settled for his best finish to date in his young K&N West career.

Following the lengthy rain delay, the race didn't see the checkered flag until well after midnight on the West Coast. With the win, Gilliland becomes the eighth driver in the history of the series to score four consecutive victory. If the Sherrills Ford, North Carolina driver can score another checkered flag next weekend at Orange Show Speedway he'll become the fourth driver to win five K&N Pro Series races in a row joining Jack McCoy, Hershel

If the Sherrills Ford, North Carolina driver can score another checkered flag next weekend at Orange Show Speedway he'll become the fourth driver to win five K&N Pro Series races in a row joining Jack McCoy, Hershel McGriff and Ricky Craven.

Chris Eggleston, who won the season opener for BMR at Tucson in March, came home third with Michael Self and Nicole Behar, who each battled close for those positions, rounding out the top five. See full race results HERE

Solomito powers past Coby for win

Timmy Solomito made the most of his chrome horn to make the pass by defending champion Doug Coby to score his second NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win of the year and also retake the points lead at Langley Speedway.

Solomito, who won the season opener at Myrtle Beach Speedway, put the bumper to Coby with seven laps to go to get past him and held on during a late restart to score his sixth career win.

Coby showed the way from the point throughout most of the race before Solomito was able to catch him with seven laps to go in the race and after contact, sent Coby spinning.

“I hate to race that way,” Solomito said. “We had a really fast car tonight. I pressed him and tried to get him to slip up. He slipped up a few times. I showed my nose a couple times. I have a lot of respect for Doug but he’s trying to win a race and I’m trying to win a race."

Doug Coby led 134 laps, rebounded to finish 15th after the incident with Solomito.

“Timmy made his car faster, and we were just a tick tighter,” Coby said. “We still had a fast race car, a controllable race car. It was a good race, that’s what the fans deserve to see. They don’t want to see somebody walk away by a straightaway.”

Eric Goodale finished in second and Kyle Bonsignore finished third while Max Zachem and Justin Bonsignore rounded out the top-five.

The Whelen Modified Tour returns to action on June 14th at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. For complete results see HERE.
