WS: Altamont: Lofton Racing preview

LOFTON LOOKING TO REBOUND

Following a disappointing finish in Phoenix, Lofton Racing is looking to turn their season around in the coming weeks. While the season opener result was a situation of "wrong place, wrong time" the # 66 Lofton Cattle/Cometic Gasket/Klotz Synthetic Lubricants Ford Fusion looked to be coming to the front before a brake caliper fitting failure required an extended pit stop.

"I feel we are making great strides as a team even though our results have not shown it," Lofton said. "I think we are headed down the right path and I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm excited about the prospect of running two new tracks next month in the combination events."

The team tested at Altamont Motorsports Park on Monday, April 16th in preparation for the Altamont "200" this Saturday.

"We want to be prepared for our upcoming events," said Lofton about the test. "We were happy with our results from the day."

The Altamont "200" will kick off on Saturday, April 28th with qualifying at 3:30 p.m. and green flag action begins at 7 p.m. The race will air live on HDNet and re-air on SPEED as part of the Racing Across America series.
