DOUGLAS COUNTY SPEEDWAY LATEST CHALLENGE FOR BOWLES IN THE NASCAR CAMPING WORLD WEST SERIES
Californian enters Round Six having finished on the podium in both previous visits to the half-mile Oregon oval

ROSEBURG, ORE. (June 4, 2009) -- Jason Bowles resumes his pursuit of the NASCAR Camping World West Series title on Saturday (June 6), with Round Six at the Douglas County Speedway in Oregon. Thanks to a race win, a runner-up finish and results among the top-10 in every round thus far, the talented Californian enters the Toyota/Bi-Mart 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts second in the title chase and one of the front-runners to leave the Northwest oval with a victory.

One of only two half-mile ovals on the 13-race NASCAR Camping World West Series calendar, Douglas County Speedway is sure to present an interesting challenge to all the title contenders. That being said, Bowles enters the one-day event in Oregon having enjoyed success at the banked oval in his previous visits, as well as at similar half-mile tracks. In two career starts at the Douglas Speedway, the former karting and formula car standout has finished on the podium twice, taking the checkered flag in third place both times. In addition, Bowles has two series wins at the 0.500-mile Irwindale Speedway. Given these results and the fact that No. 6 Sunrise Ford/Oakley/Joe Gibbs Racing Oil/GS 610/RPM 12/Justice Brothers/Bell/Ford has started from the pole position twice in the opening five races, and has yet to finish outside of the top-10, many on hand will be keeping an eye on the current championship runner-up.

"I'm really excited to go back to Douglas County, we have run good the last two years here and I think we are bringing back the best car we have had yet," stated Bowles. "With the points battle being as tight as it is we need to have a good solid weekend. The team gives me a great car every week and I know they will do the same this week."

The Toyota/Bi-Mart 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts, Round Six of the NASCAR Camping World West Series, gets underway on Saturday (June 6) via a 45-minute practice session just prior to the lunch break. This will be followed by another 45-minute practice run ahead of single-car qualifying at 5:00 p.m. local time. The green flag for the 150-lap race is scheduled to wave at 8:30 p.m.
