CAR NO. 8 NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES WEST TEAM PENALIZED FOR RULES VIOLATIONS AT PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2010) -- NASCAR announced today the car No. 8 team that competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West has been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Saturday, Nov. 13 at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz.
The No. 8 team was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules); 20C-4.1B (the "spec engine" must be completely assembled using only NASCAR-approved "spec engine" components without modifications); and 20C-4.1B(2) (carburetor must remain as supplied by NASCAR-approved supplier; unapproved carburetor modifications) of the 2010 NASCAR rule book. The violations were discovered during post-race inspection on Nov. 13.
Steve Teets, crew chief of car No. 8, has been suspended for the first two 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship events.
