Woodside and Team Walker Motorsports collect podium finish at the Bullring.

April 14, 2002 (Valencia, Calif.) - Sean Woodside and Team Walker Motorsports earned a solid second-place finish in last night's NASCAR Winston West Series event, The Orleans 222, at The Bullring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Nev.

The #45 NAPA Filters/Ron's Rear Ends Chevrolet was a front-runner throughout the day's practice sessions. Woodside's qualifying effort gave him an inside second-row starting spot on the grid. He led the field twice for a total of 29 laps, and was never out of the top-four throughout the 222-lap event.

Saturday night's performance was what has come to be expected for Team Walker Motorsports this season. Woodside and the team have been unstoppable in 2002, with one win and five top-five finishes in six events entered to date.

Woodside is currently second in the point standings in the Winston West Series. He is third in the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring point standings, just six points behind the current series leader.

"I wish we could have made it another win, but we'll take the second-place finish," said Woodside following the race. "What is really important is that we are running up front consistently this season. That's good for the team, for every aspect of what we're trying to accomplish this year."

Team owner Donna Walker commented, "The team has come together solidly this season. We laid a good foundation last year, and it has begun to pay off. The team is excited about how well everything has gone so far this season, yet very determined to see that we continue to raise the bar for ourselves."

The Orleans 222 will be televised on NASCAR TV on The SPEED Channel on April 22, 8 p.m. ET.

More information is available at the team's Web site at www.teamwalkermotorsports.com.
