Worsham'S Al-Anabi Toyota Dragster Takes Top Spot In Four-Wide
Qualifying
Dixon, Pedregon Earn Thirds
Del Worsham registered his first Top Fuel pole of the season as the Funny Car driver-turned-Top Fueler made a 3.780-second pass on his final run in qualifying to secure the top spot for Sunday's NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at the zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C.
The Al-Anabi duo of Worsham and reigning Top Fuel champ Larry Dixon showed amazing consistency throughout the weekend -- with both drivers placing in the top-three in each of the four qualifying. Dixon placed first, second, first and third in his four runs while Worsham ran second, third, second and first. Dixon earned the number three spot for Sunday's eliminations.
Shawn Langdon had a strong run on Saturday to climb to sixth, with Antron Brown in ninth and Morgan Lucas placed 16th to round out the Toyota-sponsored cars in Top Fuel.
In Funny Cars, Cruz Pedregon continued his strong early season run -- showing both speed and consistency. The two-time Funny Car champion placed his Snap-On Tools Toyota Camry second in three of the four sessions run to place third overall. Pedregon has now qualified in the top-six in 14 consecutive races -- the longest streak in Funny Car today.
ESPN2's coverage of Sunday's eliminations begins at 7:00 p.m. ET.
