BAYTOWN, TX.- Bruce Litton's NHRA tour in 2000 continues to provide the Indianapolis, Ind.-based driver with many rewards. Last season, the Wix Filters presented by the Top Dragster Driving Experience-sponsored driver failed to make the field at every race they attended. This season has provided a turnaround as the team has a perfect record. The NHRA O'Reilly Nationals at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Tx., keeps the streak alive.

Litton qualified tenth in the 15-car field and is scheduled to face Larry Dixon in the Miller-sponsored fueler during the first round.

Of the four sessions afforded to the category, Litton only participated in two, opted to conserve parts and inevitably open the door for more events than the scheduled ten for the 2000 season.

On Friday, he posted a 4.776/285.35 during the first session and opted to pass on the second session.

He chose to run one session on Saturday and used the early session to solidify his consistency by carding a 4.777/291.19.

"The majority of what we use the NHRA events for is to test and solidify our combination," explained Litton. "We want to win, but sticking to our combination and making good, clean and quick runs stands as our goal."

The attendance at the NHRA events has been a positive experience for the veteran enclosed trailer dealer. He stands atop the IHRA points standings and most recently won the Holley Spring Nationals in Rockingham, NC., and finished runner-up at the Prolong Winter Nationals in Darlington, SC.

The Top Dragster Driving Experience has retained Litton's team to carry out their marketing program with WIX Filters. Top Dragster Driving Experience President Joel Collins feels the triangle marketing partnership between WIX Filters, his company and Litton's team provides a future example for other teams aspiring to run Top Fuel.
