John and Mike go out in second round

John Coughlin took on Rick Jones in the opening round. John launched from the starting line beams first and never looked back. He ran a 7.609 at 176.14 mph to take the win.

"I was ready for this race," stated John. "The energy level around our team is so high right now."

In the first round Mike Coughlin and Ruben Celedon faced off. The JEG'S S-10 left first and cruised down the middle of the groove to the big end. Mike turn on the win light with a 7.599 at 176.33 mph.

"The guys are doing a great job reading the track," commented Mike. "With the changing conditions that we have seen it is even more important to have a good handle on the track."

John went head-to-head against Steve Farr in the second round. Farr left the starting line first by .026 seconds. The two Chevy S-10's raced door handle to door handle down the track. Farr turned on the win light by .016 seconds. John ran a 7.607 at 176.07 mph.

"We will now focus our efforts on the race next weekend in St. Louis," noted John.

In the second round Mike took on Brian Self. Both Chevy S-10's staged together. Self left the line first by .024 seconds. The two raced side-by-side to the finish line. The win light came on for Self. Mike ran a 7.575 at 176.79 mph.

"We will be ready next weekend," stated Mike.
