Jeg Coughlin enters the Atlanta race as the NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock points leader following his victory at the most recent NHRA event in Las Vegas. Jeg is currently 12 points ahead of second place Jason Line.

Thus far in 2009, Jeg has won 13 of a possible 20 elimination rounds. In addition to his wins in Las Vegas and Phoenix, he claimed a runner-up finish in Houston.

Jeg Coughlin Jr. won Pro Stock at Atlanta Dragway in 2000, defeating Bruce Allen in the final round.

In ten career appearances at Atlanta Dragway, Jeg has a round-win record of 11-7 in Pro Stock competition.

As a sportsman racer Jeg claimed the Competition Eliminator title at the 1997 Atlanta event. That season, he set a record by winning NHRA national events in four different classes; Pro Stock, Comp, Super Stock, and Super Gas.

Jeg's best starting position in Atlanta is No. 2, which he accomplished in 2003. He has started from the top half of the Pro Stock field on five other occasions.

Jeg is the reigning NHRA Pro Stock champion. He has earned four NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Pro Stock titles in his career, including back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008. His other titles came in 2000 and 2002. As a sportsman racer, Jeg also captured the Super Gas championship in 1992.

Jeg is ranked No. 6 in the K&N Horsepower Challenge standings. The K&N Challenge is a special event that will take place in Norwalk, Ohio on June 27. It is a special $50,000 to win event that is open only to the top eight Pro Stock racers based on their qualifying performance over the previous year.

With 43 career Pro Stock wins, Jeg ranks fourth all-time among Pro Stock drivers. Only Warren Johnson (96), Bob Glidden (85) and Greg Anderson (57) have more titles.

In 241 career Pro Stock races, Jeg has reached the final round 71 times, recording 43 wins. Including he sportsman victories, Jeg has won 56 times
