Team Jeg's looks to carry momentum into Texas

Troy Coughlin can't help but feel confident as he rolls his familiar yellow and black Jeg's Mail Order Chevy into the Texas Motorplex on October 18-21st. Troy has had some success at this facility, making it to a semi final appearance for two consecutive years at the fall race. This year, Troy enters the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals with a national event win to his credit and some awesome in house horsepower. Troy ran the second fastest run in Pro Stock history in route to his victory at the Pep Boys NHRA Nationals in Reading, PA only two weeks ago.

"Getting my first NHRA National Event win as a pro was huge," said Troy. "I never lost confidence in myself or our team. It's a great feeling to know that you can get out there and compete for the win. The crew at Team Jeg's has worked so hard to give me a good race car. Hopefully we can build on our success at Reading and have a great outing in Texas."

Troy's younger brother and teammate Jeg Coughlin has good reason to be optimistic about his chances in Ennis as well. The fact that Jeg made it to the finals at last years event is only part of the reason why he enters this years race with confidence. Jeg Coughlin followed up his brother's victory with a new national record at Maple Grove Raceway. Jeg set the new mark in the first round of eliminations at the Pep Boys NHRA Nationals with a lightening quick time of 6.750 seconds down the quarter mile.

"It was a special weekend for Team Jeg's in Reading," said Jeg. "It's been a season of highs and lows for us. Setting the national record and getting a win for Troy has everyone on the team pumped up. We will certainly carry that emotion and focus to Texas. Hopefully it will foster another strong performance for Team Jeg's."

Jeg enters the O'Reilly Fall Nationals fourth in the point standings. Only eight points stand between Jeg and the No. 3 position. Troy Coughlin occupies the No.17 spot only 37 points back from the 16th position.
