MATCO TOOLS SUPERNATIONALS presented by Racing Champions

WHAT: 33rd annual Matco Tools SuperNationals presented by Racing Champions, the eighth of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

Professional competitors in four categories earn points leading to 2002 NHRA POWERade championships.

Sportsman competitors in seven categories earn points leading to 2002 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championships.

WHERE: Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, Englishtown, N.J. From the North, take New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 9, follow the signs to Route 18 South. Go six miles to the Englishtown exit. Take Route 527 South five miles. Make a left onto Pension Road. Go ¼ mile, track entrance on left. From the South, take New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 8 to Route 33 East. Go eight miles to the Englishtown Exit. Take Route 527 North. Go through Englishtown. At the Exxon gas station, make a right onto Gordons Corner Road. Go ¼ mile, make a left onto Pension Road. Go two miles, track entrance is on the right.

WHEN: Thursday through Sunday, May 16-19.

PURSE: Cash and contingency awards of more than $2 million.

THURSDAY, May 16
Gates open at 8 a.m.
Qualifying and sportsman time trials, 10:15 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FRIDAY, May 17
Gates open at 8 a.m.
Qualifying and sportsman eliminations, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 4:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

SATURDAY, May 18
Gates open at 8 a.m.
Qualifying and sportsman time trials, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 12:45 p.m. and 4 p.m.

SUNDAY, May 19
Gates open at 7 a.m.
Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m.
FINAL ELIMINATIONS begin at 11 a.m.

TELEVISION:
Saturday, May 18, ESPN will televise two hours of qualifying highlights at 5 p.m. (ET).
Sunday, May 19, ESPN2 will televise three hours of eliminations at 7 p.m. (ET).

SATELLITE:
Friday, May 17, 7:30-8 p.m. (ET) - Galaxy 11 (ku)/Transponder 15 (12003MHz, horizontal)
Saturday, May 18, 7-7:30 p.m. (ET) - Galaxy 11 (ku)/Transponder 15 (12003MHz, horizontal)

Feeds include action with natural sound of Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, plus interviews with qualifying leaders on Saturday and winners on Sunday.

Sunday: Adult, $45; Junior (6-12 years) $10; Child (5 years and under), free with paying adult in general admission and pit access areas each day.

RESERVED SEATS (includes pit pass) - Friday: Adult, $35; Junior (6-12 years), $18; Child (5 years and under), $8. Saturday: Adult, $48; Junior (6-12 years), $20; Child (5 years and under), $10. Sunday: Adult, $59; Junior (6-12 years), $24; Child (5 years and under), $14.
