MAY WINS NATIONAL DRAGSTER CHALLENGE AS HE NABS BACK TO BACK RACES

INDIANAPOLIS (May 29, 2007) Wes May is having a stellar month of May at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis, has he won his second Super Pro race in a row and took home a NHRA Wally during the National Dragster Challenge race held on Monday. May defeated Jeremy York in the finals with a pass of 6.897 seconds at 98.85mph to York's losing run of 5.329 seconds at 128.15mph.

May's winning pass was nearly identical to the one he won with earlier this month and his car is hooked up so far this season.

"It's been really close so far this year," he recalled. "On Monday I was dead on seven of the eight passes I made during the course of the day."

Wes was also nailing the Christmas Tree all day long and in the finals posted a .007 second reaction time.

For many of the racers in the VP Fuels E. T. Bracket Racing Series racing is a family affair and for Wes it is no difference. After the race he gave his father Gary credit how well he is running.

"I appreciate all the things my dad does for me," said Wes. "He helps me out a bunch and is one of the best bracket racers out there."

Since 2002, National DRAGSTER, the weekly publication of the National Hot Rod Association, has presented its popular National DRAGSTER Challenge for E.T. bracket racers at NHRA member tracks. The winner of each class, excluding the Junior Dragsters are rewarded with a special-edition pewter Wally trophy, the most coveted prize in drag racing.

"The Wally is a neat deal and I won one last year in my dad's car and I won it this year in my own car. Between dad and me, we have won four Wally's."

On Monday the Joe Barszcz Racecraft Super Pro, Automotion Racecars Pro, Rightway Automotive Sportsman, Vance & Hines Super Pro Bike and ORP Junior Dragsters were contested during the course of the day. May won the Joe Barszcz Racecraft Super Pro, Andrew Brough won the Automotion Racecars Pro, Vance & Hines Super Pro Bike was taken by Donnie Emerson, Nick Finney took home top honors in the Rightway Automotive Sportsman, and Austin Carter won in the ORP Junior Dragster division. Josh Netherton took the MPH Best Package award with a .002 and Tony Zeller won the Brickers Best Reaction time award with a .000 reaction time.
