Gainesville: Stanfield wins

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Saturday, April 21) - Today Greg Stanfield won Pro Stock Truck at the 32nd Annual Mac Tools Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.

In a replay of last years Gatornationals final, Stanfield met Randy Daniels in the final round eliminations.

When the lights came down the tree Stanfield would take a slight advantage on the starting line. He would hold on to the advantage all the way to the finish line to take the victory. Stanfield ran a 7.492 / 181.23mph to defeat Daniels with a 7.503 / 180.62 mph.

On his way to the final round Stanfield would defeat Joe Pigford, Bart Price and Bob Panella.

"I guess the luck finally went our way," said Stanfield of Bossier City, La. "We didn't make it to the winner's circle here last year, but we are here now.

"We have been real consistent lately. I think that has been the key for us. We have just tried to stay consistent and play on the other guys' mistakes. It paid off for us here today.

"It feels great to get this win, not just for me, but for all the people who help us out. For Bart and Donna Price, and all the Price girls Kelly, Kristy and Kim. For the guys on my team My Dad, Howard, My brother Mike and my crew chief Farron Wooley. And of course my family at home; my wife Cynthia and my kids Kimmie and Arron. Without the support of all these people I wouldn't be standing in the winner's circle today.

The next stop for the Pro Stock Trucks will be the 21st Annual Advance Auto Parts NHRA Southern Nationals May 3-6 in Atlanta, Ga.
