TONY PEDREGON AND THE Q POWER RACE TEAM RACE ADVANCE TO THE QUARTERFINALS IN GAINESVILLE

Gainesville, Florida (March 18, 2007) Coming off a record setting win in Phoenix, Tony Pedregon and his Q Power Nitro Funny Car Team were looking for another victory at the 38th annual AC Delco NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida.

Qualified in the 6th position with a 4.78/323.35 (seconds/m.p.h.), Tony Pedregon easily beat Tommy Johnson Jr. in the first round of Final Eliminations with a 4.810/320.74.

In the second round, Pedregon faced Ron Capps. Pedregon was out of the gate first and had the lead until just past half track when he lost traction.

"We just threw a little too much for what the track could hold," stated Pedregon. "Our team continues to show consistency and I look forward to racing in Houston which is the hometown for Q. I am confident our team will make the necessary adjustments."

Crew Chief Dickie Venables added, "Friday's' weather conditions were ideal with cool air and low humidity, but the second round in eliminations were the hottest all weekend with a track temperature of 115 degrees. We just overpowered the track, but I am confident we will make the proper adjustments to be ready for Houston."

NEXT NHRA RACE: O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals, Houston, Texas March 30-April 1, 2007
