WHAT: 47th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, the 18th of 24 events in the $50 million NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series. Professional competitors in five categories earn points leading to 2001 NHRA Winston championships. Sportsman competitors in seven categories earn points leading to 2001 NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series championships.
WHERE: Indianapolis Raceway Park, Clermont, Ind. The track is located on U.S. Highway 136, west of Indianapolis. Take I-465 to Highway 136 and go west to Raceway Road, then south into the park.
WHEN: Wednesday through Monday, Aug. 29-Sept. 3.
PURSE: Cash and contingency awards of more than $2.6 million.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 29-- Gates open at 8 a.m. Qualifying and time trials,
10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
THURSDAY, Aug. 30 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Sportsman eliminations and qualifying 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
FRIDAY, Aug. 31 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Qualifying and sportsman
eliminations, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSION at 5:30 p.m.
SATURDAY, Sept. 1-- Gates open at 6:30 a.m. Qualifying and sportsman

at noon (ET).

coverage at 11 p.m. (ET).
