Nearly ideal conditions made for a strong third round qualifying session for pro stock at Route 66 Raceway. Team Jeg's driver Troy Coughlin continued to impress with a solid run of 6.819 ET at 201.73 mph.

"I am really excited to see the consistency back in our Jeg's Mail Order Chevrolet Cavalier. We have had really solid runs under several different race conditions this weekend. The car has performed well both in the cool over cast skies of Friday as well as the heat of the day on Saturday afternoon. We have a lot of good data on the race track. Hopefully that will help us out as we look towards eliminations on Sunday," said Troy after his third qualifying run.

Jeg Coughlin was edged out of the 16-car field in the series most competitive class after his third round qualifying attempt. Jeg ran a 6.876 ET at 200.08 mph.

"The car shook pretty bad in second, that's what really hurt us. Team Jeg's is working really hard to get us back on track. Every one is focused, we just need to take it one step at a time," said Jeg after third round.

The fourth round of qualifying yielded yet another solid run for Team Jeg's and Troy Coughlin. Troy ran an impressive time of 6.825 seconds at 201.31 mph.

"The four runs we have made through qualifying are some of the most consistent that we have made in a group this year. We hope that are early success this weekend is an indication of the success that Team Jeg's will have tomorrow on raceday," said Troy after his final qualifying attempt.

The team made an engine change in the Cavalier of Jeg Coughlin Jr. for the final session. The team prepared for a hail marry pass to try and break into the quick sixteen. Jeg ran a 6.682 and was just shy of making the quickest field in Pro Stock history.

"We started the final session with our backs against the wall. Although we ended up a little short, we will focus our efforts on putting Troy's car in the winners circle tomorrow," commented Jeg.

Troy will begin raceday from the No. 5 position. The yellow and black Jeg's Mail Order Cavalier will face Brad Jeter in the opening round. Troy has lane choice, and is expected to take the preferred left lane.
