Underdahl looking to build on success in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (October 27, 2010) - Suzuki Extended Protection Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Jim Underdahl is still riding high after a personal-best performance three weeks ago in Reading, Penn., and the 24-year-old former Minnesota State Wrestling Champion is calling in some added assistance to keep advancing his season. Ben Kriegsfeld will once again be helping Jim's dad, veteran Pro Stock Motorcycle racer and tuner Greg Underdahl, turn the wrenches this weekend at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Jim blasted to a personal-quickest time in Reading of 6.883-seconds at 195.87 mph while on his way to a second-round finish. He currently sits at No. 11 in championship points, claiming the honors of "the best of the rest" as he sits atop the list of drivers not qualified for the Countdown to One. He raced to the finals in Brainerd, Minn. earlier in the summer.

"After working all season long to get a good rhythm going with the team, things are finally starting to jell, and we really want to keep things moving forward for a championship run next year," Underdahl said.

"Success on these bikes is a combination of a lot of things, and if one small piece is out of place or slightly off, the results show on the track. It was great having Ben [Kriegsfeld] with us in Reading, and with the way the bike ran, I can't wait to see how we fare in Vegas," he said.

Kriegsfeld is no stranger to Pro Stock Motorcycle. Having been around the sport for years, he learned much of what he brings to the table while tuning his own bike, occasionally fielded by his father-in-law Kenny Van Buren. Away from the track, Kriegsfeld has also been making news in his home state of Arizona. Just last week he was named to the annual list of the Arizona Republic's Top 35 Entrepreneurs Under 35 for running his AGP Turbo and AGP Arms corporations.

"I just love motorcycle drag racing," Kriegsfeld said. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with the whole Underdahl family as they are truly what you call 'good people.' I just hope that my 'help' this weekend can push Jim into the winner's circle."

Underdahl said, "Really it's with help from people like Ben, my family and friends, along with sponsorship from Suzuki Extended Protection, Kymco, Classic Chemical and so many more is what helped me run my first full NHRA season and is getting us to the next level next season. Now, to send them a Wally - that'd be great."
