Winning is all about team work. The JEG'S Mail Order Racing Team has taken the concept of team work to a higher level in NHRA Winston Drag Racing. Jeg and Troy Coughlin are brothers and teammates. The two drive identical looking Oldsmobile Cutlass' and share every piece of data that they generate from each car in an effort to win as a team.

The team has shown that their winning ways work. Through the first three races of the season, Jeg won the first two races and Troy posted a runner-up finish at the last race.

Jeg Coughlin, Jr. is leading the Pro Stock class with 290 points and is 26 points ahead of the No. 2 position. Coughlin commented on his success so far, "The key to our success has been planning, preparation and maintenance." Coughlin quickly states that the season is far from over and that there are plenty of races remaining in the 2000 NHRA season.

Jeg and his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Olds Cutlass is a threat to win at every NHRA race. The team has shown great consistency in both qualifying and eliminations throughout the young season. Jeg is the only driver that has made sub 7 second runs every time he and his car have gone down the track so far this season. "Mistakes that you make early in the season can come back to haunt you in the closing races of the season and the Championship." Jeg continued, "The most important thing for us or any team is to not beat yourself. Gain as much data as you can on the track during qualifying and translate the data you generate into round wins on raceday."

Troy Coughlin is coming off of a runner up finish at the Mac Tools Gatornationals, which is his best finish of the young season. Troy's efforts at the last race moved him up to the No. 4 spot in the points. With a strong performance Troy and his JEG'S Mail Order machine can move as high as the No. 2 position in the NHRA Winston Championship points. "We have been making solid runs since the beginning of the season." Troy further explained, "Having the use of twice as much data has helped our programs success happen faster."

Troy commented about coming to a race track where no drivers have ever raced, "I think it is great. No team has any data on the track so it will be a thinking mans race." Coughlin added, "I think that we have assembled the best team in Pro Stock. Our team works well together, has plenty of talent and experience. Having all of this on our side should translate to a successful weekend for Team JEG'S."

Troy is 80 points away from breaking into the No. 8 spot in the 2000 Holley Pro Stock Dominator Duel points. This special race takes the top eight drivers based on qualifying points and put them head-to-head in a race for $50,000. This race, which Jeg Coughlin won in '99, occurs annually in Englishtown, NJ as part of the Matco Tools Spring Super Nationals. Troy commented, "We know what we have to do to be among the elite eight in points and our team will make every effort."
