Pawuk Re-Signs With Summit Racing

RICHFIELD, OH 1/3/06 In a joint statement Mark "Cowboy" Pawuk and officials of Summit Racing Equipment of Tallmadge, Ohio, have announced that the 21-year NHRA Pro Stock veteran will continue his sponsorship relationship with the nation's largest supplier of mail order high performance parts for a 14th season in 2006.

"We're extremely pleased to have Mark with us for another season," said Summit's Motorsports Manager Kirk Heinbuch. "Coming down the stretch in 2005, Marks' Pontiac GTO was clearly one of the most improved performers on the NHRA POWERade Series tour. Mark was at his most competitive and has always been a first class representative for the company, so we're looking forward to seeing his car in the winners circle during the coming year, where we'll be celebrating with him."

Pawuk is also excited about the contract extension. "I take great pride in the longevity of my relationship with Summit Racing Equipment, but to me our relationship is just as much personal as it is about business. For the past 13 years I've seen how hard all of the Summit people work in making sure that every customer receives his or her order promptly at a fair price, and I'd be less than honest if I didn't admit to being impressed with what I've seen. To continue being a part of the Summit team is very important to me, and I'm determined to put the Summit name and logo into the winners circle during the coming season."

Pawuk's 2006 Pontiac GTO team will embark on an extensive testing program right after the first of the year, with the team having high hopes of hitting the ground running hard at the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California on February 9th.

"We ran pretty well in the last few races of 2005," noted Pawuk. "We've made a few changes for the coming year, with our engine program with Ron Krisher already having been firmed up. I think we're going to be considerably more competitive than we were last year, and I can hardly wait for the new season to begin."
